Registration has opened for the 5Th Annual Central PA Workshop on Evidence-Based Mental Health Services hosted by the Child Study Center and Psychological Clinic at the Pennsylvania State University on Friday, May 18, 2018 on the Pennsylvania State University, University Park campus. Registration deadline is April 30, 2018.
Linda Pfiffner, PhD is a Professor in Residence in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of California, San Francisco and is a licensed clinical psychologist. She is also Director of the Hyperactivity, Attention, and Learning Problems (HALP) Program at the Children’s Center at Langley Porter, UCSF. She received her BA from UCLA and her Ph.D. from the State University of New York at Stony Brook. She has over 180 scientific publications and presentations focused on ADHD and related problems including school and family-based interventions and has published a second edition to her handbook for teachers “All About ADHD: The Complete Practical Guide for Classroom Teachers”, Scholastic, 2011. She developed an integrated multicomponent behavioral intervention for the inattentive presentation of ADHD (Child Life and Attention Skills, CLAS) through funding from the National Institute of Mental Health. Most recently, she has adapted the treatment model for delivery by school-based mental health professionals and for students with all presentations of ADHD-related problems. With funding from the Institute of Education Sciences (IES)/US Department of Education, she is completing a 4-year randomized trial of the intervention (Collaborative Life Skills Program). She recently was awarded a 4-year development grant from IES to develop a web-based, remote training program for school mental health providers in implementation of CLS. She was inducted into the CHADD Hall of Fame in 2012 and is currently President of the International Society for Research in Child and Adolescent Psychopathology (2017-2019).
