The Commonwealth will hold CODE4PA 2018: Addressing the Opioid Epidemic, from 6 to 9 p.m. on Sept. 21 and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sept. 22. The hackathon will provide an opportunity for teams to come together to work on ideas to address prevention, rescue and treatment aspects of the opioid epidemic. Multiple datasets will be made available through an Open Data Portal. Teams will continue to work during the next month with a Pitch Day set for Oct. 20. This event brings together groups from both the private and government sectors, including consulting teams, civic hacker group and student teams. It will be held concurrently in Harrisburg, Philadelphia and Pittsburgh. A virtual option will also be available. The Clinical and Translational Science Institute is co-sponsoring transportation from University Park to the Harrisburg location for faculty and students interested in participating.
