Research Development will present the workshop "Introduction to the Principles and Practice of Clinical Research" from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 25 in C3621, Penn State College of Medicine. This free, two-hour workshop explores the key skills and knowledge every investigator needs to develop a sustainable clinical research program. Designed for those considering the clinical research field and for those seeking a refresher, topics include:
- The different stages of a clinical research project
- Choosing a research question - implications for study design
- Identifying collaborators and mentors
- Best practices for grant proposal development
- NIH policies governing clinical research
