PRI CSA Data + Donuts Series - FEB 28

Dear all,

I am writing to announce the PRI/CSA "Data + Donuts" seminar series for this spring semester. These seminars will focus on data and methods that PRI associates are generating and working with. We hope the meetings will provide an opportunity for those associates to get feedback on their work in progress and for the PRI community to learn about data and methodological resources that they might use in their own work. These 1-hour seminars will include a 15- to 25-minute presentation, followed by Q+A and time for open discussion about data and methods.

Donuts and coffee will be served.

The seminar schedule is as follows. All meetings will be held in 314 Welch.

• 2/28, 12:00pm - 1pm: Siyu Liu and Joseph Risi, "Understanding Criminal Offending and Mortality Using CJARS, the Numident File, and the Mortality Disparities in American Communities (MDAC) Data"
• 3/28, 11:00am - noon: Jennifer Van Hook, "Residual Estimates of the Unauthorized Immigrant Population and Their Application to Understand Population Dynamics"
• 5/2, 11:00am - noon: Ashton Verdery, "Bereavement Expectancies: A New Population Health Metric and Associated Data Resources"
