Jennifer Glick, professor of sociology and director for the Center of Population Dynamics at Arizona State University, has been named director of the Population Research Institute at Penn State.
Glick will take over as director on July 1, 2017. She will also be joining the faculty at Penn State as the Arnold and Bette Hoffman Professor of Sociology. She received her bachelor of arts degree in sociology with a minor in human development and family studies from Penn State, and her master of arts and doctorate degrees in sociology from the University of Texas at Austin. Her research focuses on immigrant adaption and family survival strategies in receiving contexts, migration and family processes in sending contexts and the connections between them.
Jennifer Van Hook, professor of sociology and demography at Penn State, will step down after serving as director for six years.
