Paul Morgan, PRI associate and director of the newly established Center for Educational Disparities Research, recently presented at the National Association of School Psychologists' Public Policy Institute in Washington, D.C. The title of his talk was "Racial and ethnic disparities in disability identification and treatment".
This Institute offered an intensive learning experience that helps build foundational knowledge of education public policy and grassroots advocacy skills. Presenters included national leaders working in federal education and human service offices, Congressional committees and offices, research institutions, professional associations, and student-development organizations.
Additionally, two papers authored by Morgan and other researchers and funded by the Institute of Education Sciences were among the most read papers within the last year in Educational Researcher, a high-impact educational research journal.
