Internal Deadlines:
Deadline for Notice-of-Intent to OVPR: December 19, 2011
NSF Full Proposal Deadline: March 1, 2012
Limit: One proposal as lead institution
The NSF Ethics Education in Science and Engineering (EESE) program considers proposals for research and educational projects to improve ethics education in all of the fields of science and engineering that NSF supports, including in interdisciplinary or inter-institutional contexts. Each institution may submit only one proposal as the lead institution. If this office receives interest from more than one proposal team, we will conduct an internal downselect. You will be notified if a downselect is necessary.
Proposals must focus on improving ethics education for graduate students in those fields, or on developing summer post-baccalaureate ethics education activities or activities that transition students from undergraduate to graduate education. The program will entertain proposals in graduate ethics education in science and engineering generally, but is particularly interested in proposals addressing issues involving the international or global context and those addressing issues of intellectual property, including scientific publishing.

If a faculty team in your college/unit plans to submit a proposal, please ask them to complete an online notice-of-intent by December 19, 2011. The form can be accessed at: https://www.research.psu.edu/limitedsubs/notice-of-intent. As stated above, if we receive interest from more than one proposal team, we will notify interested teams and give instructions on the internal downselect process by December 22nd.
