Professor of Biobehavioral Health and Medicine, Joshua Smyth, joined SSRI on July 1 as its new Associate Director.
Dr. Smyth is no stranger to SSRI. For the past three years, he served as the Academic Director of the Dynamic Real-time Ecological Ambulatory Assessment (DREAM) initiative at the Survey Research Center. Along with the SSRI Associate Director position, he also will serve as the Associate Director of the Children, Youth, and Families Consortium.
Dr. Smyth is an expert in ecological momentary assessment (EMA) methodologies and his research focuses on stress and health. He received his Ph.D. in Health and Social Psychology from the State University of New York at Stony Brook, and he has held faculty positions at Syracuse University and North Dakota State University.
Dr. Smyth takes over the responsibilities of Dr. Douglas Teti, Professor of Human Development and Family Studies, Psychology, and Pediatrics who is now the head of the Department of Human Development and Family Studies.
SSRI welcomes Dr. Smyth to his new role, and thanks Dr. Teti for his many significant contributions to SSRI.
