Jennifer Van Hook, professor of sociology and demography and director of the Population Research Institute at Penn State, was recently awarded the Raymond Lombra Award for Distinction in the Social or Life Sciences.
This award recognizes a tenured faculty member in the College of the Liberal Arts who, by his or her outstanding work in the field of social or life sciences, has demonstrated excellence in research and scholarship.
Dr. Van Hook received her Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of Texas. Her research interests include immigration, social demography, demographic techniques, household/family structure, and health.
